Total Supply CFM Requirement for Heating

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

CFMh = Qh / (1.1 x AF x CTD)

Where:

 CFMh        = Total heating supply air required for the building, CFM
 Qh        = Total heat loss on building, Btuh
 1.1        = A constant, Btuh/CFM-oF
 AF        = Altitude Factor
 CTD        = Temperature of air leaving heating coil - temperature of room, oF

 AF        = [(1 - 6.8745 x 10-6 x E)5.2561] x 14.696 x 2.036 / 29.921

Where:

         E                = Elevation, feet
         14.696                = Atmospheric pressure at sea level, psia
         2.036                = A constant, inch Hg/psia
         29.921                = Barometric pressure at sea level, inches Hg
